Mix Media - 4 Cube Drawer

I created a mixed media 4 drawer shelf back in August. I am now just getting to posting the pictures and instructions.

For this project I used medium weight natural chipboard .  It's the chipboard I had on hand.  If I would do it again I would either do it with the black or the white.  For a better overall luck I used ink to cover the natural look on open spaces.  The links below will direct you to the chipboard.

Natural:
Grafix Medium Weight Chipboard Sheets, 12-Inch by 12-Inch, Natural, 25-Pack

Black:
Grafix Medium Weight 12 Inch by 12 Inch Chipboard Sheets, Black 25/Package

White
Grafix Medium Weight 12-Inch-by-12-Inch Chipboard-Sheets, White 25-Pack

I was able to create this drawer system in a weekend.  I had an idea on what I wanted and then just started to plan it.  I originally wanted to add a pencil holder to it and other items but the way this one is designed it would make it difficult to get to the side drawers.  I wanted it designed this way because the back is facing a wall and I will not access it.  I have thought of an alternate design that I have also shared the idea with the plans that I will have the link below to download.  The alternate design would be for a shared desk.  Having the drawers on the side then you can have a pencil holder in front and not hinder access to the drawers.

You may even upgrade it with a Lazy Susan - Lazy Susan Bearings, 3", 5/16" Thick, 200-lb. Capacity

Below are photos of my creation

Congratulations - Graduate Card

Today's card is not your typical Graduation Card.  I wanted something for a young lady that would look great but be simple and easy to make.  The design is clean and can be used for any occasion. The background is the Darice Large Petal. I love how the black with white embossed mat looks so sophisticated, the embossing really pops on the card.  I hope the young graduate, enjoys the card as much as I did making it.

Happy - Female Birthday Card

I created a card using chevron papers that I cut into strips to create the background.  I cut the word happy with my Cameo out of a strip of white scrap paper.  I intended the background to show through but I did not like the look so I cut a strip of solid color to go under the white.  I like how this card turned out.  It is a great card for any age, male or female.  It is quick and easy to make, that can be done in a few minutes.

Supplies
A2 Card - White card stock
Chevron Strips - 1 1/8" X 4" - 3 in one color and 2 in another
Solid Strip - 2" x 5 3/8" - purple
Banner - 2.5" x 5 1/4" - white - happy (Eras Bold ITC) at 110 pt font - birthday printed (LD Red Hatter's Hand) at 26 pt font in black.

Everyday Card - Butterflies

Here is a card that I made with stamps and markers.  I like the way butterflies turned out but I am unsure of the matting.  When doing the matting I was trying to incorporate the color of the butterflies. It turned out well but it's not one of my favorites and I will revisit these butterflies again.

Mat 3 - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" - Yellow
Butterflies - 3 pack wood stamps I got at Michaels - Memento Tuxedo Black Ink - colored with Spectrum Noir markers

Annabelle's Signature - The Making Of

In the making of yesterday's card I needed Annabelle's signature to make it special.  Below is the illustrated guide.  Enjoy!

1. Grab a not so thrilled Annabelle

2. Create inside sentiment with enough space for paw print

3. Clean paw with baby wipe

4. Put paw on ink pad and press

5. Take inked paw and press on inside sentiment

6. Check to make sure signature is valid

7. Put paw on baby wipe to prevent the spread of ink

8. Look at all the nice paw prints and smears

9. Wash paw with soap and water

10. Dry paw and reassure pup that nothing of value went down the drain

11. Let very patient and well behaved pup outside to enjoy nice sunny day
Note the pained expression on Annabelle's face

Thanks from Pet

Today's thank you card has a little story behind it.  My husband's grandma suffers from arthritis pain and our 3 year old dog Annabelle suffers from it as well.  Annabelle was diagnosed with arthritis as a puppy.  Recently it is so bad that she was unable to walk a mile without a lot of suffering. We took her to the vet and she is on what we call "happy" pills to lubricate her joints.  We told grandma about Annabelle's suffering because we knew she could relate.  Imagine our surprise when we got an envelope addressed to Annabelle, grandma sent her a get well card.  In return Annabelle and I created her a thank you card.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
